Ellis, Dear Canada: Days of Toil and Tears
Flora Rutherford is a orphan in the Protestant Orphan Home. The book is written in diary form. Flora writes about how excited she is when she finds out that she can leave the orphanage to go live with her Auntie Janet and how she feels about her new life. The diary entries she writes include secrets and other important stuff she finds out about. They include funny stories, sad stories, and even horror stories. I think Ms. Salisa is a PooPoo

Best Friends by Roberta Edwards
This book is about the friendship of Owen and Mzee. Owen was a baby hippo who was safe from a storm. Mzee was a 130 year old tortoise. They met at Haller Park and then they became best friends. I enjoy this book because it shows me that friendship lasts forever.

This is a very good book about a girl named Flora who goes to live with her Aunt and Uncle. It's a very different life for her as she has been living in an orphanage. Her Aunt and Uncle are very kind and for the first time she gets presents on her birthday. There is a lot of joy but there is sadness as well. She works in a Mill six days a week which is hard work, but she gets used to it. The story is told through Flora's diary entries. Read this book to find out how Flora's life turns out.
